Waiting in the Sky (Before the Starman Came to Earth) is a limited edition vinyl LP by David Bowie that was released on April 20, 2024 for Record Store Day (RSD). The album was created to commemorate what would have been Bowie's 77th birthday. Here are some details about the album:
  • The album is based on quarter-inch stereo tapes from Trident Studios recorded on December 15, 1971.
  • The track list is different from the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars and includes four songs that weren't on the original album.
  • "Round and Round" replaces "Starman".
  • The album includes a Chuck Berry cover, which was recorded in February 1972.
  • The first side of the album originally closed with Bowie's version of Jacques Brel's "Amsterdam".
